Synopsis

This monograph explores the dialectical relationship between metropolitan orientation and the sense of nativeness in V. S. Naipaul’s works. Through postcolonial literary analysis, it argues that Naipaul’s ambivalence toward cultural roots reflects broader tensions in diasporic identity construction. The study contributes to debates on globalization and hybridity, offering a nuanced critique of Eurocentric literary canons.
